An easier way to access the chat room would be by downloading mIRC. Its the basic
chat program for IRC. Click
here to download it if you don't have it already. mIRC makes chatting a lot
easier in many ways. And once you download it. Don't mind the 30 day trial thing,
its not really a 30 day trial. ;-)
If you are already familiar with mIRC [or use another IRC program], these are the
settings you will need to connect.
Server: irc.surrealchat.net
Channel: #AdventChildren
If you are unfamiliar with the program, here are the step by step instructions
to get you started.
- Download the file to your desktop and install it to the folder you see fit.
- Once this is done, be sure to launch mIRC. When it comes up, the a screen
with the creator's face should appear. Just close that, its meaningless.
- Type your Name, Email Address [does not have to be your real name/email],
Nickname, and Alternate Nickname in.
- Once this is done be sure to click okay at the bottom. Now that you can
type, type in /server irc.irchat.tv and press enter.
- Wait until it connects you fully. You will know your connected once a channel
box pops up. Just close that out, its meaningless. Now type /join #AdventChildren
- Now you are in the chat room. Other commands for IRC include /nick NewNickname
[This changes your nickname] or /quit [This makes you quit from the server].
To use IRC again after the first time, just follow steps 4 and 5.
About changing nicknames: Some nicknames are taken by other people and registered
with a password. That means it belongs to someone. To register your own nickname
just type /ns register passwordhere email@email.com Whenever you connect
to the server you will need to type /ns identify yourpassword so the server
knows it's you.
