It took about a few seconds before the crowd exploded in applause and screams.
And honestly, I thought the movie barely started. The whole 20 minutes appeared
like if it was only five. The lights turned on and many left right away. Our group
stayed for a while, and another one further up too. Both talking about what was
just witnessed. A minute later, we left and went outside. Sorry if I deafened a
few people, I just couldn't resist screaming a few times. (which I still want to
do, a few days later)
Our group parted, many of them living in Ontario. On my side, I stayed because
it wasn't over. Not only was I able to see the screening of 8pm but I was going
to see it again at 11:30! I had one ticket left, which Son-of-Seto took and we got
another one for his friend. So for the next hour, we traveled around to Chinatown
and ate. I have to admit I just couldn't eat all day long due to excitement, so
that meal was the most welcome!
Once back at the ex-Centris at 10pm, I asked how it would be possible to take pictures
inside the theater's hall. I've been told to see the security department, which
I did. The guy at the other end of the counter, decided not to. Why? Cause it is
for a website.
"I am the one in charge and I said no."
So personally, I give them publicity by naming them, but it is not cause I want
to, because after all, they didn't want anything of that theater online. So why
even put their name? (sorry, I am revengeful)
So all three of us sat in line, and even if we already saw it, my excitement was
still at it's peak. I was rocking back and forth like if possessed and at 11:30
we entered the theater. The people from Square-Enix were there again, and in a way
I was glad that there were only two screenings. Because in the first one, they said
it was work in progress and that the final product would be 70-80 minutes long.
However, at the second screening, it was down to 60-70 minutes long. This pretty
much made me laugh and soon enough, for another 20 minutes, we were brought back
to Midgar and the world of Advent children.
At the end of the whole presentation, I no longer wished to scream, as this was
a known path now, but our surprise wasn't over: the two representatives of Square-Enix
were there, and signing autographs!
The lady heard Son-of-Seto say he came all the way down from Ontario and asked
him a few questions and if he wanted to leave a comment, which he did.
I also left a four word comment that just explained everything I saw that night:
"I am not worthy."
We took pictures with them and left. Our night and experience was over, but it will
forever be remembered, not only because we were privileged to see work in progress,
but also because we met each other. Final fantasy doesn't only bring people closer
on the internet. It does as well, in real life.
